Privacy Policy

We'll keep this simple: we don't know who you are unless you tell us. Badger State Pros is a free guide to Wisconsin permit, code and license rules. You can read all of it without giving us your name, email, or anything else. This site has no form for homeowners. The only form is for contractors who want to talk to us.
Browsing Is Anonymous
When you browse Badger State Pros, we use basic analytics to understand things like which pages are popular and how people find us. This helps us make the site better. Here's what that looks like:
- Which pages get visited (so we know what's useful)
- How you found us: a search engine, a link, and so on
- General browser info: screen size, device type
- Approximate location (country/region level, not your address)
None of this is tied to you personally. We can't identify you from it, and we don't try to. We use PostHog (an analytics tool that uses a cookie to understand how people navigate the site across pages, but doesn't track you across other websites).
When a Contractor Contacts Us
If you are a contractor and you use the "talk to us" form, you are sharing personal information with us, and only because you chose to. That is your name, your email address, your business name, your trade, the counties you work in, a phone number if you give one, and whatever you write in the message.
- We use it for one purpose: to reply to you about working with us
- We store your message so we can follow up. It is not sent to any business or other third party
- We do not sell your information, to data brokers, advertisers, or anyone else
- We don't add you to marketing lists. We only contact you about what you asked for
The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is sending it. Turnstile runs only when you submit the form, and Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to that check.
What We Don't Do
- No data selling, ever, to anyone
- No cross-site tracking: we don't follow you around the internet
- No ad networks: no Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or retargeting
- No marketing emails
Want Your Data Deleted?
If you sent us a message and want us to delete it, just email us at hello@badgerstatepros.com. We'll take care of it.
Links to Other Sites
We link to city and state government pages, the U.S. EPA, and the other websites we run. When you click one, that site's own privacy policy applies. We can't control what other sites do.
Children's Privacy
This site isn't designed for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from kids.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page. Nothing sneaky; just check back if you're curious.
Questions?
If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@badgerstatepros.com. We're happy to explain.
